Peacekeeping forces have done little to quench the fires that rage through the villages in Darfur. Humanitarian organizations have tried in vain to provide ongoing aid while surrounded by the human carnage of violence and disease. Journalists are targeted for attempting to document the atrocities that occur everyday. Rape is used as a weapon against women and children gathering fire wood outside camps increasingly vulnerable to attack. World leaders have failed to pressure the Sudanese government to end its ethnic campaign to wipe out a people. And the world body has yet to exact justice for the millions displaced and more than 200,000 lives lost since 2003. No one has stopped the genocide in Darfur. Darfur: A Call to Action

Calls to stop the violence in Darfur have come from governments, organizations and individuals around the world. Two voices in Portland, Ore., continue to call out against the violence by adding to those of Amnesty International’s ongoing appeal for Darfur.
