Peacekeeping forces have done little to quench the fires that rage through the villages in Darfur. Humanitarian organizations have tried in vain to provide ongoing aid while surrounded by the human carnage of violence and disease. Journalists are targeted for attempting to document the atrocities that occur everyday. Rape is used as a weapon against women and children gathering fire wood outside camps increasingly vulnerable to attack. World leaders have failed to pressure the Sudanese government to end its ethnic campaign to wipe out a people.
